Benefits of Same-Day Emergency Dental Care
Waiting days for an appointment while you're in pain is hard on anyone. That's why we set aside time in our schedule for emergencies every day we're open. Here's what that means for you:
- Fast relief. Most emergency patients are seen within 24 hours, often the same day they call.
- No existing patient file needed. New patients are always welcome, whether you're new to Anamosa or just haven't found a dentist yet.
- Gentle, judgment-free care. Our team understands dental anxiety and works to keep every visit calm and unhurried.
- Clear insurance and payment options. We accept most major PPO plans and offer financing, so cost doesn't have to stand between you and care. Learn more on our Insurance & Financing page.
- One trusted team for the whole family. An emergency visit today can be the start of ongoing care with our Family & Emergency Dentistry team for years to come.
What to Expect During Your Emergency Visit
When you call, our team will ask a few quick questions about your pain or injury so we can find the right appointment slot for you. Once you arrive, we'll take digital X-rays or use our in-house imaging to see exactly what's going on. Because we have same-visit technology, including CEREC crowns and digital impressions, right in our own office, many repairs can be finished in one visit instead of sending you home to wait on an outside lab. You can read more about the tools we use on our Technology page. After we understand the problem, Dr. Debra Oldham or Dr. Joslyn Slater will walk you through your options in plain, everyday language, answer your questions, and make sure you're comfortable before any treatment starts.
Common Dental Emergencies We Treat
Not sure if what you're dealing with counts as an emergency? Here are some of the most common reasons patients call us for same-day dental care.
Toothaches & Tooth Pain
A sudden or lingering toothache is one of the most common reasons people search for a tooth pain emergency dentist in Iowa. Pain like this can come from a cavity, an infection, or a cracked tooth. We'll find the cause and work to get you comfortable, often the same day you call.
Broken, Chipped, or Knocked-Out Teeth
Sports injuries, falls, and biting down on something hard can all chip or break a tooth. If a tooth gets knocked out completely, rinse it gently, try to keep it moist, and call us right away. Depending on the damage, treatment may range from smoothing and bonding the tooth to, in some cases, an extraction if the tooth can't be saved.
Lost Fillings or Crowns
A filling or crown that comes loose can leave a tooth feeling sharp or sensitive. We can often replace it the same day, sometimes using our in-office CEREC technology to create a new crown without a second visit or a temporary crown wait.
While we're not open around the clock, we do keep time open each day we're in the office for patients looking for 24 hour emergency dental care in Anamosa, so you can usually get seen the same day pain starts.
